Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV

Picked up 2 6 lug 15x7 rallies from UNCLE on the 67-72 site. Just a short ride from work. These will tuck in real nice on the front and look better than the 8" rallies I put on after the disc brake upgrade I completed last month.

Your upper ball joint hardware is in upside down. The bolts go in from the bottom, nuts on top.

Shrank my tank to fit the frame area between the rear axle & the hitch. Started with big square Suburban tank. Cut or 7 inches & rewelded the end cap back on. I'll clean with acid & use Caswell tank sealer to complete.

The new tank measures 26 x 20 x 11, and accepts a TBI fuel pump, should be about 22 gallons. It's 11 inches from the tank to the ground.

Mounted the a new wiper motor in by Newport, it's 2 speed wiper and will be a much needed improvement. Straight in application, still need to run the wires.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV

Painted the white stripe and added the molding trim with 3M double sided tape.
I did not want to drill holes in my truck and the tape works great.

Good idea on the tape, but I would be a little hesitant. Because when you drive 88 MPH, things happen......

I got the idea from a thread on this forum. Some of the members have had the trim installed with this tape for over 5 years with no issues even going through car washes.
I had to remove a piece that I installed wrong and had to use a heat gun to heat it up then I used a fishing line to pull between the truck and tape to remove that piece of trim and it took a lot of force.
Hopefully I won't lose any pieces of trim 😂

88 MPH! That's faster than a speeding ticket. Or are you just trying to travel through time

It is. 2.5" Drop spindles in the front and 3" springs in the back.
Everything clears just fine and the bar sits up high enough that my control arms are still the lowest point on the truck.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV

Started building a radiator shroud for my '61 with a 3 core Champion Radiator and mechanical fan on 350 small block. Using galvanized steel roof flashing and aluminum rivets.

Good work outlaw. It amazes me that no one makes actual shrouds, just block off plates with fans on them.

I don't have a photo right now but the fan shroud that I got from US Radiator is more than a block off plate. It is an actual shroud.

I installed the rebuilt fuel sender, got the tank back in place, and installed the new fuel pump and rebuilt carb.

And I took a video of it running! Video link

Scraped off the grease and dirt and pressure washed engine compartment.
