Re: high school trucks

I'm 17 and a senior in hs. My granddad bought my truck new in 84 and gave it to me last year. Its a half ton 6.2 4x4 that I converted to 4 speed granny. I lifted it 4 inches and run 33x12.50s. Everyone makes fun of my truck for not having any power but It's one of the best looking trucks in the parking lot. The only other square is my buddies 85 rclb.

Re: high school trucks

My old '73 that I drove for Junior and Senior year. It was my first attempt at restoring a vehicle. I abused the piss outta this truck, hit a few port-a-potties (accidentally of course), spun it off a bridge, slid off the road and never once did it break down on me. Needless to say I got all of my stupid days out of my system when I owned this one.

Re: high school trucks

Well I didnt actually have a squarebody in high school, I didnt get my '79 till after college...but I bought my old '63 when I was 14, paid for it by working 3 jobs, while homeschooling, lol. It was fully restored, had a mostly stock 327 with a 4-speed. For a 3/4 ton truck solid metal truck, that thing freakin hauled ass!! None of my buddies back in the day could ever keep up with me, even the guys with fancy new trucks, lol! Wish more than anything that I still had it, that truck was my baby!! Here's a couple pics of my old '63 and my daily driver '79, currently undergoing a body swap, putting the body on a shortbed chassis. 400+ hp 350, lowered 5/7, 15" Torque Thrusts, Flowmaster 40s, etc. Should be a screamer for sure!!

Re: high school trucks

the first 2 cars i bought were squares, an 82 silverado loaded, and a base model 85 sierra, the 82 i'm building with a 5.3l fuel injected engine. will have the oldest automobile not only out of the kids, but out of all cars of faculty, students, evrything. as long as i save enough money for the cam and stall i want it will probably be the fastest car in school, with the only competing with me being a 2010 camaro ss. unless some rich mommas boy gets a vette or something...i'm only 15 in my sophomore year

Re: high school trucks

I had an 84 in High School. Straight 6 with a 3 on the tree. I used to raise all kinds of hell in that truck. I still see it around town from time to time. Last time was broken down on the side of I-20.

Re: high school trucks

Bought my '81 from my dad in my junior year. I thought I had life by the tail. I couldn't have been happier. I had to polish a LOT of alcoas do a lot of oil changes and brake jobs before it was paid off.

here it is when my dad bought it new. picture taken at Hot Rocks Cement plant in Cloverdale, CA.
