Re: high school trucks

When I was in high school you could still buy them new. The only square body I could afford then was an old '72 International, LOL.

Why do your teachers hate it?

Senior Year. A total of 4 different trucks since I could drive. The square bodies have been the best. Lots of fun and memories made. 1985 and 1987

Still have mine 33 years later. Actually it was my dad's when I was in High School and I bought it from him about 5 years ago. I dated my wife in it then and still married!

Re: high school trucks

Bought mine when I was 16 (got my license when I was 17, NJ) and I still have it 15 years later. Drove it every day in HS then when I came home on the weekends from college. Once I graduated it became a weekend driver.

Re: high school trucks

My 75 Blazer I had in HS finally succombed to cancer about 10 years ago. There really wasn't much left. That one was probably my favorite square body, and I had it the longest. I bought it from the original owner, who used to live around the corner from us.

Re: high school trucks

What kind of headlights are on your truck silence86? They look like HID's. I graduated highschool last year and my weekend driver is a '82 swb with a 305.

Here is one I had in High school, and it was my first restoration project.
Not a square body, but a truck.

Re: high school trucks

Bought my truck the summer i got my license... 16 yrs old. it may look like it's in good shape in the pics, but there was literally an inch thick of fiberglass filler over a badly dented cab, and rust holes i could fit my fist through in both rocker panels. Started the father/son project at 17, failed to get it done for my grad, but got it "done" the following spring!! i LOVE it. still got er... this is the only pic i have of when i bought it ...it continues to be a project.

21 years ago when I graduated my folks bought me a 1974 rust bucket Blazer. The truck is long gone but I still have fond memories of that old beast...
