Re: Dumptruck Dolly
Once the box was on, the scissor portion of the lift was within millimeters of the top of the pumpkin on the rear end. Can't have this. Adding leaf springs for weight and a 4.5 inch block to create separation This will do the trick. Moving the box either way was not an option because of weight transfer during dumping. Yes the box at the rear end will be higher, but I do have fold down sides all the way around if loading is an issue. (I just had a thought of adding four-wheel-drive which would level out the truck some… That's another day/year project, no promises on that one.) Enjoy the pics.

Re: Dumptruck Dolly
I had my wife pick this up for me at Harbor Freight. I hope it works well.

Re: Dumptruck Dolly
Here’s some pictures of the box completely elevated. The scissor type hoist really surprised me how “vertical” it articulates the box. Next plan is to seal the new metal with paint.

Re: Dumptruck Dolly
Looking even better now, I love the long stalk side view mirrors. Next welding project might be a plow frame, haha

Re: Dumptruck Dolly
After 24 hrs drying time, I applied rubberized undercoating. To back half a truck like this, expect 10 cans of the stuff!

Re: Dumptruck Dolly
Funny, I just went through 9 cans of Rust-Oleum rust reformer on my late model's frame, had great weather here for it, still have to do the inner frame, ugh

Re: Dumptruck Dolly
Yeah, I cleaned out Home D, then got the remaining cans at Lowe's. Must be a popular product, or just not well stocked

Re: Dumptruck Dolly
Cool trucks! I love functional toys. I have thought how cool it would be to have a lil dumper like Dolly but it would be hard to justify its existence as I live in town. Id probably only use it 2-3 times a year and the rest of the time friends or family would want to borrow it. lol.

Re: Dumptruck Dolly
The bed sides on Dolly were stuck, so a little elbow grease and penetrating oil did the trick.
The floor on this bed is in awesome shape! |

Re: Dumptruck Dolly
I decided to clean up the air intake and oil filler cap.
The semi-gloss black hadn’t quite flashed over when I took the last pic. |
