Dumptruck Dolly

My first attempt at documenting a build on "THE" forum...Let me introduce "Dumptruck Dolly". A 1967 Dually pulled from the field/yard in Nashwauk, MN. It was used as a hay hauler on a Hereford Farm. 292 4 speed and pretty bare of options. My goal is to keep it a running vehicle during the build, and to make it a functional truck..."if it works well, or as it was intended, keep it...sort of thing. I will be adding a dump box that an Ely craftsman built, using electric over hydraulic power.

The name you ask? Dolly was a cow my father-in-law had while growing up in Ely, not far from downtown. Maybe the truck should be called Downtown Dolly...

Dolly makes it home...I was hoping the old wood bed would've fallen off on the ride...

Re: Dumptruck Dolly

I lived in Ely about 20 years ago, on S Central Ave. Really neat little town. That is a great start to a project you have there.

We lived at the nw corner of S Central Ave and Pattison, big house with a stone wall bordering the street. My dad and I restored that house, we lived there about 2 years. It looks like Ely has grown a bit since then!

Re: Dumptruck Dolly

i believe the interior should be fawn (gray) and not being listed is normal. i think some 67's had red but fawn seemed to be the standard.

Ahh yes, across from the Moose. Cool...Ely is busy between Memorial and Labor Day...could use more industry with liveable thriving family wage for full timers. I am glad to be part of the area for my whole life and am happy to make a living and bring up a family...nice place.

Re: Dumptruck Dolly

I got one last thing done before the end of the weekend. The bumper was trashed, so I fired up the torches and got rid of it. Now, I have to look around in my stash for that one silver painted bumper that's hiding in 20 years of part accumulation.
