Re: Do you have a 1972 Plaid Blazer/Jimmy?

Time for a bump so...
Here is another "Hidden Highlander" currently yellow with black trim. Belongs to member firedoger who unfortunately hasn't been on since last October, 2014.

More as a reference than anything else here are the SPID shots showing a "F" Flint assembled YG8 Promo Package Highander in 523 Dark Blue and 677 Blue Plaid with a white top.

Of note beyond the included content of the YG8 it was optioned with G80 positraction and U69 AM/FM radio.

Re: Do you have a 1972 Plaid Blazer/Jimmy?

It looks nice but missing most of the highlander options. My truck is going to be what this guys truck is supposed to look like someday.

Re: Do you have a 1972 Plaid Blazer/Jimmy?

While I started three threads for the Highlanders due the fact they were different trim codes and content my message to all that have helped so far is the same. Please drop in on the pickup thread for my words of thanks. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...&postcount=439

Not a bad looking ride. Wouldn't need a lot to restore. At least the body looks solid.

I sold this to a gentlemen in NW NM regretfully. The rust repairs needed far exceeded what I could afford.

So who owns it now? Another board member?

Brought selected hosted pictures over here. Notably it is a rarely seen "Special Paint" Blazer with Gray Highlander plaid trim. Manual throttle and 3.73s too!

Also on the mirrors, this is correct with the standard mirrors as it is NOT a promo package (YG6-8) that included the DF2 camper mirrors.

Is this one a hidden highlander since it has 677 custom trim combination?

I might have to build a highlander clone with a blue exterior, 671 interior
I got a lead on a truck, trying to work a deal, gentlemen has owned it for 20 years.

Seats have been replaced, door panels painted black. But it is the exact truck I was hoping to build, figured I'd never find. Guy has no idea it's a highlander.

523 mariner blue
Yg8 promo
671 gray plaid.

I will own it.
Also had a really awesome never installed hicky diff cover

Looks just like mine. We could be twins. Looks pretty solid on the outside too. Some rocker rust but that's almost a given on these trucks.

Yea had a little rocker, nothing into the floor or up the kick panels. My 72 I have now had rust in a bit of the floor and nothing in the rockers. Lol

Re: Do you have a 1972 Plaid Blazer/Jimmy?

As of just now there were 56,365 views, combined, for the three specific Plaid Highlander threads as linked below. While many are repeat visits that is still a lot of interest and I appreciate everyone's ongoing support with this project.
