Full crank left, aired down. Full crank right. Looks like it should work well. A much better appearance. It's bolted to the balljoint not the bag plate. The brake line travels with the control arms. Thanks for the tip Keith. You must have played with these trucks a little. |

I have 8 rims to sand prime and paint also. Just kinda tinkering around stuff is left. I'll get it there one day. |

I finally finished the rim painting. Well 6 of them anyhow. The last two are on the rear. I'll paint them later on.
I had to redo both sets. First set, I didn't get the gloss I wanted. Second set, the Argent silver just didn't look right. I like them a shade or two darker to contrast with the trim rings and center caps. Here is a pic of the wrong color. plasti-kote p/n 621, Argent silver. Here are the pics of them painted plasti-kote p/n 618, Steel. Those are the 6.5in van rallys. They really tuck in well. Gives the truck a refreshing new attitude. I love it. I can now touch the entire top of the tire. I couldn't before with the 8in rallys, they rubbed the outer wheel well edge, not even close now, same 235/60 tire. Here's a pic with the former front 8in rallys. I think it went lower with the new rims. My front tag frame is now about an inch off the floor. I also put a re man Summit Rochester Q-jet on. Fired right up, choke set, warmed up, choke pulled off. It just needs a tweaking to the carb and tune up. So I need some valve cover gaskets. And now I need to figure out a minor electrical issue I have with the AirPod display. I noticed that when the motor is running above 500-600 rpm. The display screen disappears. It comes back on as soon as low idle is reached. All the functions still work. I have it wired to direct battery for the main hot. The memory is at a keyed source. It functions 100% normal with motor off, with either acc keyed, or ignition keyed. Seems like when the alt get's enough juice flowing to the batt, that where my problem may be. I have an iffy battery. It works, but I need to do a load test. I've seen low charged batts do weird things to electrical systems before. Now on to exhaust. I need one. That's later on. I think I'm ready for a first drive around the block. I have a ton of clean up to do. I'll post some pics later this week(pending rain)when I pull it out of the garage. |

I like the look of silver ralleys. How about some outside pics? JUst a thought,... shouldn't your wiring be the opposite of what you have? Main hot on the ignition switch and the memory off of the battery? Maybe I just read it wrong. Anyway,... nice to make some progress. I bet you can't wait to drive it.

Well I just came in to tell y'all. I just drove Blazer around the block.
My next door neighbor thought I was doing brakes this whole time. Then I dropped it for him. His look was worth it all. I need to do a MAJOR tune up. It runs a 100% better than it did. It can run better though. Although my drive was brief. It feels totally different than before. I'll get some pics later this week. I need to shine it up first. |

Thanks guys. I just finished cleaning the first layer of interior crud. Came out nice.
Is it just me, but when I took it for a spin today it felt real tight. I remember a spongy feeling with the spring suspension. I was going maybe 20mph, and went maybe 1.5mi. But very tight feeling. I guess that's good. |

Yeah I wasn't sure at first of what I was getting into. It seemed easy enough when I'd look at some threads. Some things I found to be down right frustrating. It was a challenge for me. But fun all the way.
I'd like to have a Suburban to play with. Prefer 67-68. |

Washed up the Blazer. Here are a bunch of pics. If you are dial up, go get a snack.
The rear isn't at full dump due to exhaust. Working on that. I'll have a few more pics up tomorrow with black rims and different sized tires. I am real curios how those will look. I think maybe, real good. We'll see. I'm not going to put trim rings on at first. I will have to contemplate it for a while. |

Your hard work was DEFINITELY well worth it. Looks SICK!!!
I think the black rims are going to be the final touch. I'd vote the smaller trim rings like on the front with the black for just a little bling and "pop" against the tires.
