dude if i had a shop i would go in and never come out i would build a small kitchen bathroom and bed room in the shop and order parts from the phone and go out side just to get the part so 12:45 doesnt seem like anything to me

Got the doors mounted..... it sure pays to mark the hinges (we drilled 1/8 inch holes) so when you re-install them the doors line right up !!!!

looks great...but the white section on the drivers side below the gas cap/filler...looks smaller...doesn't go up as high and down as low as the other white sections?

There is a minor difference... but in my defense.... I painted this truck with the bed 6 foot away from the cab... and the doors and front fenders in another booth. And don't forget... the mouldings cover all the lines !!!!!
These pictures are taken in the same paintbooth, it's just hard take a pic with both still in the same picture. |

70LonghornCST.... You have to make time.. plus we have a deadline for this truck. Funds are tight right now so we are doing what we can afford. Just keep your eye on the prize, these projects can turn into a basket case real quick. Do one mini project at a time and progress can be seen very quickly. This is my 12th or 13th project in as many years.. so I am used to the pressure. Some for me and some for others.
The rivits are just regular 1/8 inch steel rivits with steel mandrel. I ground off the originals from the back side and saved them so I could compare them to what we have in stock at the shop. It worked out great, they look fantastic. Last edited by CUSHE63; 08-15-2010 at 05:45 PM. Reason: pics |

If you have to have the vehicle inspected by the DMV, you may run into a problem with the VIN plate being attached without the rosette style rivets.

Ok, Jon's been working for the cash to continue his build. Blueprinting the engine, installing some chrome parts, polishing the stainless mouldings....lots of good stuff.
