Re: Barn find resurrection
More progress today. Got the bed painted and installed. Fabricated new bed mounts to raise up the bed to line up the cab stripe with the bed rail. Wired the tail lights and installed the rear bumper.
I don't like the bumper on the rear. Should I go with a rollpan with this setup??? Dennis |

Re: Barn find resurrection
I really like your truck...it's lookin' very sharp. I don't like stepside bumpers on either end so both will be roll pans when the 67 gets done. Yours would look great with pans at both ends. I think that would really set the custom paint off!!

Re: Barn find resurrection
Still waiting on the rollpan. Removed the bumper. Sprayed in a bed liner. I think I'm done color sanding. After looking at the picture below, I think I'll lower the rear 1 or 2 more inches. Hope to have the rollpan painted and on this week. Windows should be tinted this week also. What do ya think???

Re: Barn find resurrection
Lowered the pickup to the level front to back. After being in the sun for two hours, the black paint showed one spot that looked dull. I thought I missed it when I polished it out. By 6pm the black was a mess. You can see dull spots all over it. I just thought I was done polishing. My guess is that the paint still had solvents in it, and all day in the sun brought it out. So I left it out side today also.

Re: Barn find resurrection
Great work. I would be very interested to see how much you end up getting for the truck when you sell it. Are you planning on posting here, craigslist, ebay, or somewhere else?

Re: Barn find resurrection
Yeah, the market for our trucks has really taken a dive w/ the economy. I am sure it will rebound as soon as things improve. People are really just holding on to everything they have right now. I was told by several people my truck was worth between 6-8K but the bidding has never gotten over 3500 on ebay.

Re: Barn find resurrection
It's really sweet to drive. Handles and rides like a car. Engine sounds like a 70's muscle car. Gets a lot of attention where ever it goes.
To bad.--Looks like I'm going to have to keep it awhile longer. |
