Re: Abandoned truck.....help me identify!

Haven't yet, but still might.
Like I said, I just bought a car and truck last week, a 47' chevy fleetline and a 55 chevy 1st series truck. Three vehicles in two weeks seems a little overkill, doesn't it?
haha

Nicke it's not overkill if you have the money it's an investment I would try to get it nailed down if it were me. The little woman was making noises about me having more than one truck. She said you can only drive one at a time, so I took her by the hand to the closet and pointed at her shoes[Hermelda Marcos would be proud]and said you can only wear one pair of those at a time! And she's been silent about my trucks ever since. At any rate if you can afford it get it, even if you don't do anything with it you can always sell it for what you paid for it or more. And if you want to pass on it PM me I'll come get it. Thanx Vernski

Are you just playing with our minds then. Sounds like you were never going to buy the truck anyway.

Not exactly. I have had my eye on that truck for a few weeks now, and am really thinking hard about getting it. The two vehicles I bought last week were impulse buys and now plays into my entire situation...
I live in town and have a one car garage, have a daily driver suv, a 65 impala SS (my first car) a 71 C20, and now a 47 fleetline and a 55 Chevy 1st series.

Parking and space is becoming an issue for me. I could always bring a few to my dads an hour north, but still something to think about. I am trying hard to talk myself into it, and you are all helping!

Might offer $500 and see if he bites.

If I decide not to get this truck, rest assured I will pass it along to someone here that wants it.

Re: Abandoned truck.....help me identify!

Hey Nicke I was looking at your picture thread for your "55" did you get any paper-work with it that says it's a "55" if my eyes don't deceive me that's a "54" I'd be checking the paper-work, registration & title out for a miss-print.
Oh and I only live a 1/2 hr east of Spokane, just a random thought...Vernski

Yep, checked out all the paperwork, see a few posts back. It is a 55' with 54 emblems on the hood.

I have the original title from the original owner in 55' that says its a 55 along with many registrations in between. Also, it has the open driveline.

Vern, the '55 that Nicke has is the first series.....they are the same as the '54's. The '55's that you are thinking about are the 2nd series....they look just like the '56's.

haha...no disrespect taken. I will let you know how it turns out. To be quite honest though, there are quite a few 60-66 chevy trucks in running condition around here on craigslist for under 1k.

I do think that this is a hell of a deal though.

I can attest to that. last week i missed a 63 bbw long fleet that was probably just as nice as this one is,, $300! it didn't last long, by the time I figured out where to get the cash, +100 for the trip it was gone

haha, wow, old thread.

Passed on the deal and the truck is now gone. I would guess the new owner is happy with it! (Where ever he/she is)

Re: Abandoned truck.....help me identify!

Five pages of "should I, could I, will I"....... Threads like this drive me nuts.

The least he could have done was turned someone local (like vernski) on to it. There's plenty of guys here on the site from that area that would have scooped that thing up for $700 in a flash. Now it's gone, maybe to someone who's not a Chevy truck enthusiast and intends to drive it into the ground then sell it for scrap. There's a lot of people out there who have no understanding of collector value, especially when the scrap yard is waving $300 in their face.
