Re: Long Project: Orange Julius

Got some more progress...
Radiator support is on, and HIDs and ballasts installed. Now I just gotta wait for my Hella E-codes to show up!

Re: Long Project: Orange Julius

Not sure if im posting these for my own leisure... Seems like just me in this place anymore!

Well, the front inner fenders are complete. I wanted to do something a little different than everyone elses. What do you guys think? Keep in mind that these are brushed aluminum and the protective film is still on it.

Its a company out of China. They are called VVME.com I had a set of their HIDs on my GTI before I switched to OEM HIDs, and I loved them. Their prices arent bad either. Check em out!

Re: Long Project: Orange Julius

i understand your inner fender dilema....i have spent tons of time and money trying to make the perfect inner fender....... i think it is an impossible task !! nothing looks as good as the stock ones in my opinion. That being said it looks like you did a great job on these but i think they would look better with color on them

Finish mocking them up then polish them, they'll look great. For our viewing pleasure as well, not just your own. Looking good.

Re: Long Project: Orange Julius

Ok, Im having a big dilemma right now... Here is the situation
A few months ago I purchased my 18x9 Boyd Coddington Magneatos and when I did order them, I was overseas like I am right now. Well, my dad made a little mistake and measured the bolt pattern wrong. Instead of measuring from the center of one stud to the outside of the adjacent one, he measured center of one to the center of the adjacent. Which gave him 5x4.75". So, now I have a set of 5x4.75" bolt pattern wheels. I know I could run adapters, but it had me thinking of different options.

Option 1) I could get adapters and run them on the front two, then buy two brand new ones from Boyd, preferrably 10" wide and something with a little more dish to it. This would be the cheapest option

Option 2) Buy completely new wheels. I have had my eye out lately, and I think I have found another set that I like. The "Pentia" made by Intro Wheels. I would put an 18x8 in the front and a 18x10 in the rear. Both would have completely custom backspacing and I would use the stepped lip Here is a pic for thos who dont know what it looks like

Well, what do you guys think?

Re: Long Project: Orange Julius

DONT DO THE ADAPTERS! I had heard nightmare stories about them, but I figured they were probably exaggerated. So I tried them on my '67 Mustang Convertible ... took every precaution to make sure they were good and tight. My left front came loose on the road, and took out the fender, firewall crush panels, rocker panel trim ... and a bit of my stomach was lodged in my throat for a few weeks.
Sell 'em, cut your losses and buy something that fits.

I've been looking at some 8 lug Intro's for my Suburban. They make sick rims.
