Re: 1965 frame off progress
That should be an excellent combo!
A top quality resto does take some time. Looks to me it will be well worth it when it's done.

Re: 1965 frame off progress
Well it looks like progress is beginning to be made again. My dad decided he wanted to help out financially with the truck (it was his dads) and we have ordered just about all the replacement sheet metal parts that we need. We have also lined up someone for the metal work and hopefully he will begin in a few weeks.

Re: 1965 frame off progress
Are those valve covers on the truck motor a dealer item? I am really liking them.

Re: 1965 frame off progress
It's looking good. We spent 2 1/2 years on my son's truck. We kinda got burned out. Congrats on staying with it.

Re: 1965 frame off progress
Truck looks great!! Hopefully I can get mine to look like that one day!! What size wheels/tires are you running? Look like Wheel Vintiques. Trying to figure out whether I want to run 15x8 wheels with 275 wide tires or 15x10's with 295 tires. Yours looks pretty much perfect!

Re: 1965 frame off progress
Cleaned up the guage cluster some. You can see before and after pics here. Also, cleaned up the wheels a bit and spray bombed the bare metal. |

Re: 1965 frame off progress
Truck is looking good! Your rocker panel and cab corner came out good. I was proud when I did both of mine. Good Job!

Re: 1965 frame off progress
I wanted to update this just a bit. The truck is running. I just finished the vintage air installation. I am now planning to hang the body back on for the final mock-up before painting. Here are a few pictures I took today after hanging the doors.....

Agreed, awesome workmanship. I really like the color also. I'll be following your thread. This truck is being done right and will be a beauty.
