Drew, I can't blame you for being a perfectionist. I would be too because this is a super nice truck! It's looking great!

Drew, good to see you back at it. I forgot the 'burb you built this off of was yellow. Perfectionist, I don't think you'd have it any other way, this is going to be a super nice truck and a radical departure from the norm. Keep up the awesome work and I look forward to seeing it completed.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.
OK, looking better now. We'll see how the monster looks after a wet sanding with 400 grit. I'll be down to tiny spots to fill with glazing putty I'm pretty sure. Then prime again and block/wet sand with 600 grit.
Everything I read talks about how 400 grit scratches don't show in the final paint, but I beg to differ. I tried it on both the black truck and the green Denali and I could see the scratches in the right light. I also do not trust that if I wet sand/block with 400 grit and then go back over with the 600 grit that I will find and eliminate all the 400 scratches. When you are doing it you just cannot tell where you have been or not since it is already a sanded texture. That is why I will respray the primer and then go over it again, this time with the 600 grit. I use and 11 inch block with 8 by 11 sheets of wet or dry sandpaper cut in half wrapped on the block. If you hand sand this step you can end up with tiny ripples in the surface instead of mirror flat.

20 years ago the factory paint jobs weren't so hot so his repairs were on par with what was on the truck to begin with. Definitely not show car worthy but fine for a daily driver. Just to be safe I always use 600 to wet sand the final primer coat on my own projects.

I doubt I move there, but I may end up there for some training some day. If so I'll try to get a hold of you before then.

Yep, we fill up the left ballast tank and load everyone on the left side also, then I can surf the wake created by going 10 MPH. I always wanted to learn to surf.
