Thanks Bro, it sure feels good having it makin sweet tunes again. But now I have some ventilation issues with the block and may be cuttin holes in in the back of those nice painted valve covers. Not a bummer but a chance to make it look even more trick than before!

I saw a PCV hooked up to a set of those valve covers that was put into the back side out of the way. It looked good but I bet it sucked oil like crazy. Don't think there is room to retrofit a stock valve cover oil baffle at the back. Maybe you could put a fabricated oil shield over it that could clear the rocker arms.

Not really a good place to put a breather on the top of those classic valve covers. Maybe one of the old Offy elongated pedestal style ones would fit above the Chevrolet script.

I found some baffled air filter bungs that are very thin so I hope they will work, should find out when they get here in a few days. Cuttin holes in the back of the valve covers is really buggin me, but I have to get the engine breathing properly.

I had a good day workin on the truck! The airride is working.....almost perfect, and some of the wiring was done. This one wire alternator kinda has me stumped, but I will figure it out soon. All of the vacuum lines are starting to look ugly so I am going to try and make the installation a little a little cleaner lookin. Figured I would get a pic of the engine since this is as complete as it has ever been, and that feels great!

If you haven't cut the valve covers yet, think on this for a bit.

You already have the oil filler tube, they make breather filter caps for those, don't they? Looks kind of like you already have one, but with a hose connection...?

Some cars (like 88-91 civics with 'dpfi' - honda's term for TBI) had a threaded PCV valve - you could drill a hole through the manifold into the lifter valley (not into the intake runners), thread it (I'm sure it's a metric thread, although there are probably other threaded PCV valves out there), install the PCV, and then between that and the breather-filter-equipped oil fill tube, your crankcase pressures should be fine.

The cars that came with those valve covers used the road draft tube to relieve crankcase pressure, so that's proof you don't need to ventilate the valve covers themselves.

I do already have a PCV valve in the intake and will reroute my vacuum lines to the carb for more ventilation. If that isn't enough then I will use a "T" and split it to the PCV and the carb. No problem, hope it helps out. I was looking at this pic, trying to see what you currently have configured. If I'm seeing it right, it looks like you've got a vac line going from the manifold vacuum port (just behind the passenger side of the carb) to the oil fill tube cap (which I am making a bit of an assumption on believing that it is also a breather filter). I also see a vac hose coming off the PCV fitting on the front of the carb, but I'm not certain where it's going, unless that's connecting to the PCV valve you mention in your response.

If I am seeing this right, I think it will all straighten out if you disconnect the vac line between the manifold and the breather filter and cap off both ends. If I'm not seeing it right, then I'm all wet.

I did run the power booster to the manifold and the breather to the carb which seem to help alot. The hose you see going from the front of the carb is going to the trans, but that is changing tomorrow. I will run that to the small vaccum tube on the front which is really all it needs. It was running fine today with everything just thrown together with tubes not fitting properly and such, but it will done correctly by the weekend. This should be the fix to the problem, then it will be time to throw a new video up with it running properly!!!

Hahaha, looks cool enough to keep it on!! 245/35-20 front and 245/35-22 in back, I think. It's been awhile since I put them on, pretty sure that they are 245 and I am positive they are 35.
