Thanks for planting that idea in my mind Big J., I called a couple places in town and found one that will do it for $120 - $180. I will be dropping it off next week.

One of the places I called knocked the rest of the companies in my area and wanted 980.00 to do the same work.

That sounds more along the right price, I had my frame done for $100 bucks even.

We still have three feet of snow on the ground here.

Re: Got Rust?

Wow, I've been down for a while. But now I'm back with a vengeance! Still collecting parts for my rebuild project on my 1970 K5. Sure love all the threads on this site for inspiration and info! Any inside info on how to post pic's? Am still a real newbie on this computer stuff. Don't mean to highjack the thread. K5 to stay alive!

Re: Got Rust?

Well it's been a while since I've posted on this so...not much progress, but I did score on a pair of inner fenders at a local junkyard. I paid $30 for the pair. They need a little work on the 2 top holes and under the master cylinder, but under the battery box is perfect. I also got a new tank and sender, (thanks Gringoloco). That's all for today.

There's a little rust to fix but not much. I am pretty happy with the deal. Yeah I'm hoping things will start rolling within the next 2 weeks.

The boys Corvette is at the painters. I told him to use it for fill in work, so I think it will be all one color by summer. Thanks for asking.

Re: Got Rust?

[ThreadJack Started] - jaros44sr - if Tim doesn't want/need the driver side inner fender - bring it up to the 'end of summer' cookout and I will take it off your hands...and drive it back to Toledo (or since you are coming this way we can caravan up together).

My Blazer needs the driver side (currently running without one) inner fender - that would work out great...[ThreadJack Ended]...

By the way Tim - looks good so far -

Hope to meet you this weekend for the tire/rim swap!

Great to see your going at it cman. Thank's for the welcome back! Still researching my cage/bumper setup, and really ready to get started again. I have aquired quite a few needed parts for my resto, but no actual progress on the project. K5 to stay alive!

Re: Got Rust?

Boy aint it the truth. Those two are notorious for skipping town on me lately.

It's funny that you brought this up, I have plans to tear into it this weekend. It won't be anything exciting, just sand blasting and priming the inner fenders, power steering pump, etc. But I will post pics of whatever I get done.

Nope...still sitting there.

Time seems to be my biggest problem, too many projects, hobbies, kid related things, etc. I guess it will still be there when I can get the time.

I know all about kid related time. Two sons on travel ice hockey teams=no weekend time, but it will be the best time you will have with them, they grow up quick. Your projects will always be there, your children won't. Ask me how I know LOL

Re: Got Rust?

This is my 19 year old (Sam) at the N.A.S.A. nationals in Ohio, he entered 2 events and took first place in both.

And this is one with my 10 year old (Tyler) with him.

These are two of the reasons I haven't spent much time on my Blazer...but I wouldn't miss these times for anything.

On a progress note though, I'm taking the Blazer frame to get blasted as soon as they can take it...hopefully next week.
