Do you have a downloadable pdf on these like the cab mounts you've posted? |

Re: "Albert" -- 1949 AD, S10 Chassis
very nice, def one of the better designs I'v seen. its a PIA on the last mount because of the leaf perch. you handled that well. I also like how you bolt them on. thats how I do them.

I chose to bolt them on so I could also tweak them up and down without shimming the running board. Right now I just have the running board frame tacked to the frame mounts. I lined the boards up with them touching the rubber flap thing, not sure what you call it, behind them under the cab. I wasn't sure of exactly where they would need to be until the bed was in position. Last edited by HUSSEY; 02-22-2016 at 10:54 PM. |

Re: "Albert" -- 1949 AD, S10 Chassis
After some adjusting and tweaking of my running boards I started getting the bed fitted up. So far I have the right side mocked. I had picked up some wheels a couple of weeks ago on CL and couldn’t resist bolting them on to see how they looked.
The wheels are American Racing Torq Thrust 2 18x8. The previous owner had them on an 88 Monte Carlo SS. The tires are 245/40-18 Brigestone Potenza. The tires are a little thinner profile that what I would like but the wheels and tires were close to new and I paid $750 for the set with lug nuts so…I can live with it. I’m looking forward to getting the bed finished, sitting it on the ground, and rolling it outside to see how it looks. |

Are the 1 ton wheel openings larger than 1/2 tons? If so by how much? I have been searching for a good project but I had ruled out 1 tons because I thought hoods and front fenders were different. Thanks in advance

Wheels and tires look good, my 18x8's run 225/40/18's. Great fab work, I like your running board mount idea. The way your front bumper mounts is exactly how I was planning on doing my new build, so much easier than the first one. I will be keeping up with your build.

I've seen the chromed plastic set for 99 and also a chrome aluminum set for 199 on eBay. I've been told to steer away from overseas chrome aluminum, it's just going to fail sooner or latter. The AR spinners are polished aluminum. My center caps are engraved American Racing with an SS in the middle so they my be worth some money to someone. Thanks bro! |

[QUOTE=HUSSEY;7524629]Dude, I like the spinners on your wheels. What are yours? I'd like to get some for mine but from AR they are CRAZY expensive, something like $100 a piece.

I just couldn't find any pics of the font or the rear bed mounts. I am in the process of lining thy up on my frame and putting mounts on. 1 |

Wow you do great work. You have great attention to detail. Also your welds look great. What kind of welder do you have?

Re: "Albert" -- 1949 AD, S10 Chassis
lincoln welders are the best, I see a lot of guys on the miller train but my 17 year old lincoln 170 makes just about anyone look like a pro welder right out of the box. never hit the duty cycle either.

Re: "Albert" -- 1949 AD, S10 Chassis
I need to get my build thread updated...but for the mean time here's some in progress pics. This past weekend I finished mounting my bed thus FINALLY concluded getting all the sheet metal fitted and mounted.
I couldn't figure out which pic angle I liked best so I just went ahead and loaded them all... |

Re: "Albert" -- 1949 AD, S10 Chassis
Had a guy come by last night and pick up my 1-ton frame. I was finally glad to get rid of it, got $250 for it. I keep saying I was getting close to cutting it up and scrapping but I couldn't bring myself to doing it knowing there had to be someone out there who could use it. I'm glad it found a good home...now I need to place and order for $250 worth of parts.
