Re: project BIG RED (gen3 on air)

I'm diggin the new tires/wheels. They go great with those mirrors, in fact i think you oughta throw a set of cab lights on it and roll it!

thank you, i was going for that retro look... and those are dummy mirrors, with a simple 90* rotation they become wings and i can fly...

Re: project BIG RED (gen3 on air)

got the cab all bolted down, also the piece on the edge of the cab (that he fender and wiper cowl bolt to) was all rusted out, so it was cut out, and another piece fabbed up...i welded it in and smoothed the welds down...also got the front fender bolted on, i wanna try and re-use the stock inner fenders and hood hinges...
and brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, it was cold in the shop today.

Re: project BIG RED (gen3 on air)

Nice progress Don! Your cab and firewall look great! And man does that LS look sweet perched in there. Hey, what motor mounts/stands did you use and did you make your own adapters? Yep, it was too cold for me to even go out in the shop tonight.

Are the headers you are using on this one, the same as you are using on the hulk? 98-02 Camaro. Where did you buy them from?

Re: project BIG RED (gen3 on air)

man this thread is wayyyyyyy over due...here we go with a BIG update...
the driver side sheetmetal was crappy, and repared useing fiberglass, bondo, and chicken wire...so everything was replaced... cab corner had to be extended 2" due to the fact that someone replaced the old one with the entire replacement panel, giving me no room to work with good metal..also the front cab support was replaced, the inner rocker pnl, toe board, and outer rocker pnl...then i found cracks in the door, where the hinge bolts to, tried to weld them up, but blew right through...so i started poking around and that metal was supper then, lucky the door didnt fall off when opening it ... so the driver door was replaced with a good used one, i picked up from kennys trucks..

Re: project BIG RED (gen3 on air)

the front fenders had some rust/repairs on the bottom front.. so instead of fooling with it i desided to just replace it all.. here are a few pics of it all bolted together
