For now I'm going to run the 15" rallies with either a bullet center or a baby moon smoothie (not sure). I had kicked around the idea of a red wheel but now I'm leaning to black powder coat with a Coker white wall slick and something to match the front. I really like the look of the Coker slick but concerned about traction. I don't need a slick but like the look of this tire wheel combo. I'm not 100% sold on the white wall but I could live with it. I did not see any other tires on their web site that offers this same look. Thoughts, good, bad or indifferent?

I'm a white wall fan, and I actually do like that set up there. I def like seeing a fat back wheel (if you got the power to back it up) that is my take. I like seeing just a slightly higher rear end when using a fat tire.

But I think it will all depend on your final ride height and if you are gonna paint it or what color scheme you come up with. But black on black looks good and black with wide white looks good too.

I'm down and personally have no idea what kinda traction you would get. Could get slippy in the rain.

HP and torque will not be an issue with the 6.0L engine and six speed. Not to mention I will be adding a cam and custom tune. My original plan was to have a 2" rake in the ride stance. As for paint, my plans were to have flat black and flat grey fenders. Since, I have kicked around other flat paint options like flat black cab and flat green, beige, red, etc fenders. I also like raw metal fenders with a flat coating like Shark Hide and flat black cab. I like the current patina but can make myself put her back together with exposed rust. Sorry to ramble on.....

Longhair did some photo shop colors in this thread. Keep in mind, I will be going with flat paint. He could not flatten the color on the photos but it gives me some ideas.

I love the Coker slick, looks like a Hurst "pie crust" or "cheater" slick. There is a truck from Kansas maybe that I've seen at the HAMB drags and Goodguys that runs chrome reverse wheels with whide whites and those tires on the back. It looks killer. I'm considering getting a set, but for the track only...

I finished boxing in the frame this weekend and finished with POR15 and a top coat of black epoxy paint. It turned out better that I thought it would. I hope to have the fuel tank mounted this weekend and start plumbing the fuel lines. The frame is flipped, upside down in these pics. I also attached a photo of the under side of the cab.

I can't find the same look with tread for daily driving. Do you know of any? I may call Coker and see if they can advise.

I installed the Grand National fuel tank this weekend. I still need to weld in the cross brace and braze on the AN fittings on the fuel feed and return lines at the tank. I should have the fuel lines installed this week. Then I will put the engine and trans back in the frame, install the radiator and start plumbing all of the lines and wiring.

Hey looks great. I'm a bit skeptical on rear tanks though. I just had my s-10 totaled as it was hit from behind, and wow was I glad there was no gas tank
back there, it bent my frame to kindom come and pushed the bed into the cab. So I'd advise on making some cross members to help protect it incase of an accident.

So how much did the tank and sending unit run you?

I am in the process of building a cage around the tank. I salvaged the tank from a totaled Grand National form 8 years ago. I'm glad I put it back because it worked out great. I had several turbo Regals in the past so I have a lot of turbo Buick parts.

I finished the fuel tank install and got everything painted. I cleaned the engine and got it back in the frame. The fuel line frame tabs should be here today so I hope to have the fuel lines ran and connected by the weekend. I sent the ECU off for a custom tune. Getting closer to starting the engine.

man looking sweet let me tell ya ,You are ganna love the power that 6.0 puts out!! My 5.3 is a beast and its all factory..I amagine a 6.0 with standard trans is ganna be really wild!!

Thanks! I must say I was inspired to build my truck after finding your build project from a Google search several years ago. I will have some update pics this weekend. I'm going to put the fan and rad back in. I'm going to install the stand alone wiring harness and start laying out the exhaust. The headers should be back in a few weeks from being hot coated. Here are a few for now.

Thanks. It came from Reliable Radiator. It is a Champion Radiator. I read a lot of good reviews on this radiator so I decided to give it a try.

It was not too dirty to start with. I used a commercial degreaser and my pressure washer.

52rat.. you'll be very pleased with your champion radiator mine keeps the 5.3 180.all summer,Also glad to hear that I inspired someone out there! The truck has really paid off! I CAN'T GO ANYWHERE WITHOUT BEING STOPPED.LOL EVEN LAW MAN HAS PULLED ME OVER TO TAKE A LOOK
