Bob Drake early Ford parts .....chevy tank 49 to 52 # C4952-9200 and sender # C-9275.....30 ohm.....note will require rear crossmember to be moved back about one inch and notch in left side of frame rail to clear filler. Tank will also accept all other aftermarket senders.......if you`re not running FI right now there is a block off plate for it included, you`re still set up for carb 3/8 lines and a drain plug and straps included......

Pics of new tank...I`ll bring the filler neck to the inside bed wall behind wheel well. It will hang roughly 4 inches below frame.

Just got through changing mine again. I had the blazer tank installed about 5 years ago behind the rear axle. Now that I have lowered it some more I just changed it while going through changing out my gas lines to braided stainless lines I decided to put an aluminum gas tank in as well. I have the tank out and don't have any plans for it if you would like to get it. It fits perfectly between the frame rails and has the flanges that allow you to bolt it right up under frame. Just let me know as I thought about selling it and don't want alot for it. might save you some money, just have to ship if not local.

Durg, I just took mine out and put the aluminum one in from Performance. I took the one out that was already under the bed which was a 69-? years blazer if not mistaken. Got it from classic american trucks a few years ago. If you are interested in the one I have or just for FYI on the one I just put in from Performance- It was about $450 for the aluminum. The one I took out is steel.

Re: How many still have stock tank in place?

The behind the seat tank has to go so I can put buckets in for my long legs and the two saddle tanks go bye bye as well. I plan to have a tank built to my specs with two filler necks that fit flush on the rail so I can fill from either side. I will be boxing in the area outside the rail for protection and it will have the drag style sump in it.

Re: How many still have stock tank in place?

Will keep mine stock. Yes, if I was in a real bad crash it will rupture. I have seen two Chevy truck accidents (71 and a 68). One wrapped itself around a telephone pole at the driver door (No leakage from the tank at all). The other the truck went on its roof going 80 plus MPH and slid for a block. No leakage there either. I think to really get the tank to ruptre would either be an oddball freak accident or a huge amount of force. A small rear ender would rupture a rear bed tank pretty quickly if it hit the axle or a bent bumper.

Re: How many still have stock tank in place?

The tank is still in the cab in my truck. It doesn't stink or leak ever, and it's the original tank. If I was going to add the under bed tank it would be just to increase the capacity for long trips.

Re: How many still have stock tank in place?

Just a note to you guys changing tanks and going with steel braided lines, I used Russell high pressure braided lines on my supply and return fuel lines on my burban and they leaked after a couple of years. The frame the whole length of the lines was wet with gas so I had to rip them out and use aluminum lines, I am done with steel braided lines now.

Re: How many still have stock tank in place?

mine still behind the seat... if I fill it much past half full, strong smell of gas for a little while One of my winter projects to rectify that, but I will keep it where it is.

Re: How many still have stock tank in place?

the truck shop in orange cali has repros of the 20 gal. full width tank... got one for my current project and i like it very much... always wondered why they made tanks that didn't use all the space alloted behind the seat... adds about 3 gallons to the capacity and just looks right... 2 cents
