Haha definitely this past summer we had mid 90's with humidity it was up to about 105 you literally could stand outside for 2 minutes and start sweating. It was ridiculous needless to say haha

Re: 1977 Chevy C10 known as SharkBite
I know...gets that way up here. At our ranch all the grass dies during the summer and we have to haul feed up there every weekend. Really sucks because your drenched after only being out for a couple of minutes. Oh the joys of Texas.

Re: 1977 Chevy C10 known as SharkBite
Trukzilla I have family up in Sanger and around there yeah it's not too bad but still pretty nasty.
Well update on truck is once again not much it was a buddies bday this weekend so just chilled with him and well today it was nasty as hell, might be able to get some work done on it during the week depending on my schedule and what I got to do, so hopefully I can have some doors sanded and primed and looking good and then all that will be left will be the bed and hood hopefully it will be done by the end of the year beginning of next year Posted via Mobile Device

Re: 1977 Chevy C10 known as SharkBite
I hear you, I'll hopefully get some work done this weekend having a little bit of withdrawals right now. At the beginning of the year it will start being a truck that's not so stock and won't look the same.
I forgot to mention I took off my inside door panels so now there's just handles to open the door and window handle other than that it's bare metal, which means it's just more to let my exhaust rattle! ahhh the beautiful of having an awesome and LOUD truck haha Posted via Mobile Device

Re: 1977 Chevy C10 known as SharkBite
Well of course right as I finish with a stomach bug, I catch a nasty cold so nothing was done on the truck this past weekend, plus had to be all last minute and buy christmas gifts so thats what took up my weekend. Plus of course random Texas decided to get cold over the weekend and I'm fine with working but when you have wind at 30-40mph and its already 60 outside that stuff feels like 30 haha
If all goes right I might try to get both of my doors put back on and fenders and get it running again. That's the latest update I can give y'all. Kind of changed up the engine plan a little, looking to having some fun going to go with a 383 stroker motor possible turbo, with a 4l90e tranny, and looking to get posi rear end with 3.73 gears do I want to raise hell you ask? That might be slightly true. If I end up building it right I've seen people dynoing with 800hp and 1000tq but yet again that's at 5000+ rpm so I wont ever really have that much power at my foot but it will get the tires spinning regardless. A lot of it will really depend on where I am with having kids and family as much as a thrill it would be to say I own a 800hp truck not sure if I would stay out of the pedal long enough to ever enjoy it haha

Re: 1977 Chevy C10 known as SharkBite
Okay well after doing more, more, more oh did i mention more research? I have set powerplant tell me what you guys think?
383stroker with 500hp at the wheels, 550-600lb/ft tq, AFR heads, street/mild cam, ceramic coated headers prolly just use my ones I have now, dual plan intake manifold edlebrock, prolly a 750-800cfm carb thinking holley or demon?, 4l90e tranny to handle any power thats thrown at it, posi rear end with 3.73 gears have good accelaration and still have decent gas haha. Now that I think of it having a 500hp truck thats 3 tons, doesn't sound very fuel efficient oh well pockets might not love me but I'll love the truck haha. That's going to be the plan if you guys have an suggestions or advise that might help let me know would love to have some input.

another thought. those heads got huge flow numbers and ALOT of drag racers like them. really expensive, but heres the deal. alot of people will tell you that just has an engine put together and so happens to have them says he can out run any other sbc head with those, yet there is proof a set of nicely ported old school iron double humps can do the same, but yet chevy has a new set of iron vortecs that are alot cheaper and have the aluminum vortec heads for first gen sbc (fastburns) set that can match there flow numbers and are also cheaper. aluminum vortecs sound mighty nice havent heard any one test them against those AFRs though

Re: 1977 Chevy C10 known as SharkBite
Yeah we're just going to have to wait and see and 500 isn't as far off as you think stock straight from Chevy it has 425hp 450lb/ft tq so it wouldn't be too much of a stretch but regardless it's going to be modified some but still tame and enjoyable.
Update since I can't do anything really due to weather here I decided to crank the ole shark up took 4 pumps but started and running like a champ it never really got warm so it idled high plus it hasn't been ran in about 2 weeks so not too surprised it idled high maybe we'll have decent weather this weekend here in Texas and I can finish sanding down my doors and get it put back together Posted via Mobile Device

Re: 1977 Chevy C10 known as SharkBite
I believe its a roller block, its going to be fun trying to figure out how to get that power out of it haha, one of my co workers said because of the 383 being equivelant sorry if the spelling is wrong its basically an LS2 motor, he said if I really wanted I could also grab up some LS3 heads to put on there and that would do the trick as well. I'm definitely thinking of getting a zr1 cam though because thats the best cam chevy makes. might have to pay a little money for it but it'll be worth it.
Also forgot to mention I ran it out of gas this weekend, suppose its a good think I was at the house working on the truck instead of out on the roads that would of been worse.

Re: 1977 Chevy C10 known as SharkBite
Alright well for JRANGER and all my other friends I promised here at the pictures.
Here is my NEW Edelbrock Valve Covers and Air Filter and Breather cap to get rid of the black ones I had and help tame all that orange thats on my motor, gives it more of a classic look what you guys think? Now here is the best part of my hard work it took 2 days to get done but oh well its done and I still have more to do as well. What you think of the handy work though?

Looks like you are making some good progress! Are your door pins wore out? Looks like the door is sagging a bit. I just had to replace the pins on mine.

Re: 1977 Chevy C10 known as SharkBite
Thanks man appreciate it!! Definitely like hearing positive words helps out. Where are the pins located at? My door sags pretty nasty so I'm sure the pins are worn out completely.
