Re: My winter project

I got my carpet kit in the back and seems to fit pretty well.

Re: My winter project

A couple more things I can check off my list. The front carpet is in for now and not sure if I will go with a noise barrier or something like that. I cleaned up and painted the console.

Re: My winter project

Tom I used the 3M, and seems to stick good but I had it everywhere. I will give that a shot if I have problems.

Fitting the carpet and cutting holes has taken a lot of time.

Tom won't make it, still a ways out. I'm in sanding the old paint off and some bodywork stage. I plan to paint myself because of the cost. I did put a fuel tank skid plate on, it didn't have one to start with but I had it so.. think it needs one.

Thanks, Jim, I moved it out and dusted it off. I was bored and don't have a bunch of dollars for chrome plating interior pieces so for now I painted it (chrome) yes I know but I had to know how it would turn out.

Re: My winter project

Good progress on the body work. Can you say what you used to paint the air cleaner? That is a very nice sheen. A little flatter than most.

Thank you. The paint is (low-gloss) black in the high heat type I have used it on other parts on the blazer.
I did get the side glass in the top.

Re: My winter project

I have a beat-up lower door trim and some leftover chrome paint. I know it's not show quality but this will work until I can find a decent original.

Re: My winter project

Great work on the bodywork. It's definitely my least favorite thing to do.

Trim is looking good!

Good luck, Rg

Re: My winter project

I fought the hatch glass because it would not set right. So it turned out the raptor liner coat was a little thick, trimmed and sanded a bit and it right went in.

Re: My winter project

I have the bodywork at the point I'm happy with. I moved the Blazer to a shop that has enough room so I can start taking it apart for paint.
