i had a hell of a time researching for 235/75/15 skinny whites, because i was thinking about switching to that size once i need new tires...i only found a couple companies that carry them...my idea was to keep an original look...so i doubt a 275/60 skinny white is around, but i dunno

What I'm running on my rig are Firestone 235/70-16 up front & 265/70-16 out back.

Now lookin to run same size tires all around due to the current rears wont clear my stepside bed fenders. So I may run narrower set of 16" if I can find them....

I have never owned a set of white walls but am ordering a set today. Was looking at the BFG wide WW that Jegs have on EBAY.

If anyone has feedback on these please let me know.

Mooneyes is carrying these now. Add them to any tire. I used to have them when I was a kid. Worth a try.

Portawalls are fine for taking photographs, but they never really did work very well for a daily driver. Any projections on the side of the tire cause a lump under the Portawall and eventually make it wobble, which gets worse over time. It is also very easy for them to slide off center as the tire is being inflated, causing them to whip around in off center circles instead of spinning concentrically with the wheel. For photographs they will work fine with radial tires, but in daily use the radial tire “bulge” at the bottom of the tire causes the Portawall to push out away from the tire, and eventually it takes on the shape of a funnel with the outer edge of the Portawall ending up about an inch or more away from the tire.

My dad was a big fan of Portawalls when I was a hot rod loving teenager so I gained a lot of experience with their disadvantages. Here’s a photo of the last set I owned back in the mid 70’s. They looked great in pictures but didn’t last very long.
