Re: The Fuse is Lit...
Just wanted to chime in so I could keep up w this thread. I did a frame off on a 68 stepside about 15 years ago while I was in college. Turned out great but it took me four years and I did not do near the custom work you are doing. Some bc I worked and went to school but mostly bc I was learning as I went( short for didnt know what I was doing). Be patient and you'll be happy with the results. Looking good so far. Getting ready to tear back into mine. I have already had a 396 rebuilt and thats about it, lol. I am going back with an SS theme on a pick up. It will be all period correct GM parts though. Been crazy hard finding the correct parts, but I think I have my ducks in a row now. May get started this summer. Keep up the good work!

Re: The Fuse is Lit...
Yeah thats my lil show queen, 56' Nomad. Good looking car you had though. I am getting a 69' IHC Travell back up and running right now so the family will all fit in something old and then I am going to get back on my truck. Believe it or not I have had my 68' stepside since I was 14 years old.. this will be my 3rd restoration of this truck, hopefully the last, so it should move quickly and smoothly, but it never does.

Re: The Fuse is Lit...
I tried to rework my insturment cluster. Thanks to VA72C10 for the advice. I know it is not perfect but it will hold me over until I can get a new one later.

Re: The Fuse is Lit...
That is the plan. I may have to pawn 67cheby's new billets to pay for it though, those little gizmos are not cheap.
BTW don't mention this to 67cheby, I haven't found the right time to tell him about my plan yet. ![]()

Re: The Fuse is Lit...
My truck has been in paint prison for months now but I did happen to work on some sunvisors
![]() I also mounted the battery under the bed...at least I hope it is under the bed ![]() ![]() I also moved my entire engine forward in order to help clear the tranny on the tunnel. I will have to get some pics up.

Re: The Fuse is Lit...
Odessey PC925MJ. The MJ just means Metal Jacket which wraps the battery and the only reason I got that model is my local shop were out of the regular PC925 and sold me the PC925MJ for the same price. Gotta admit it is nice to have that metal cover around it just in case though.
BTW thanks for the heads up about the tranny, moving it forward saved a bunch of headaches when we mounted the cab. It would never have fit with the motor is the location I had it.
