Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
I put on 4 new wheel cylinders and the three rubber brake hoses and gravity bled the brakes .
I put in a cross flow rad from a V8 Vega . and I took the truck for the first ride on the street since I put it together . |

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
Nice job! I had done the same on the jockey shifter of an old Harley. Most beer tap handles are too long inside the truck but that one fits nicely.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
I just bought a 1966 GMC 1-ton. It is low mileage, the owner says that the 9800 on the odometer is correct. It runs by pouring gas in the carb and today I pulled the tank. UCK, nasty and rusty. Ordered a new tank and sending unit today. I will start a build thread and post some pictures. It is an original stake bed with the original sides.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
Blew a freeze plug. lol And ended up pulling the dang motor because it needed new front and real main seals and new gaskets anyhow. SO I have a new gasket set coming and will take the engine apart and clean all the sludge out and reseal and repaint. Oh, Here is a picture of the clutch and pressure plate. They look fine right?

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
Started varnishing my bed wood on Saturday. It started to bubble a little at the surface. Thinking it is because of heat. Will nock it down with some steel wool and give it another coat.

I finally finished up the wood door to cover the air bag setup and topped it off with a bottle cap opener to use as a handle in opening the door.. it also doubles as the perfect tailgating accessory!

Got the rear end mounted on the trailing arms and on jack stands - Shhhhhhh (don't tell the wife) I'm not supposed to be working on the truck yet (I'm in post op recovery).
