Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window
Doing a little fitment on the wood since the weather has been so bad. I am not able to cut but I can at least lay it out in the correct order and number it, and also get a good idea of what to expect when it's done. I used GMCPauls website for the measurements and width but for some reason it says (12 boards) and there should only be 10 boards.....go figure.

Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window
I think so too, blingy is nice sometimes but oldschool will always be cool. The wood is beginning to test my patience, 45 degree cuts at a sweeping angle are a pain, sure you understand that one!!! Lot's of custom stuff going into the wood kit and when it's done I will have to tell the secrets of what I had to use to make it work....should be a good laugh!

Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window
I'm confident someone will give me a mound of crap about this, but I couldn't think of a better solution or material to lay under the wood! Plastic lattice from Home Depot!!!! It's 1/8 inch and works out perfect to keep the wood down low but still able to breath. It won't rot or rust either!! It is slow going doing this wood kit, but it is getting closer to finished.

Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window
I think that is a good solution. So when you put the strips on to hold down the boards does it bolt thru the bed and therefore they will hold down the boards and lattice to the bed? Thanks.

Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window
Yep. The bolts will go through the floor but I also put a few self-tapping screws in the lattice to hold it down while installing everything. It seems to be working out really well!!

Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window
Jonathan, I figured you would be the one that laughed at me for this idea! I purchased aluminum, steel, and even long peices of flat plastic, then I saw this and the bulb lit up!!

Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window
No laughing here....that's really perfect because as you mentioned it has the holes to breathe but is a solid platform to space out the wood to not be against the metal directly....and it's not going to rot or disintegrate.
