Wow 200,000. I'm pretty sure I'll never those numbers. That tach will look good in there.

Yep, 200,000.......boredom has reared it's ugly head!!!! I really hope this thing works properly, if not I will have a great platform for a nice aftermarket conversion.

Great find on the Tach cluster. That is about how mine started out when I got it. A little help from VA72c10 and it looks like new again.

Thanks for the huge compliment but I'm still learning.....a lot!

Wish I knew 1/4 of what a lot of the guys on here know or had 1/10 of their skills

And yes...80 is a SCORE! Even if it doesn't work you could part out the pieces for more than that.

Here are the other small parts I got while at the Pate Swap Meet. Got some billet wiper stem bullets and a chrome oil tube with pcv oil filler cap. Can't resist the chrome........kinda like a fish to a lure, cause it's shiney!!!!!

Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window

Here is a question that has haunted me throughout my thread and I never gave a straight answer. What is my tire size on the truck?? Well here it is in all it's rubber band glory. Rims are 20X8.5 front and 22X10 on the rear. The front tire is 225/35ZR20 90W and the back is 255/30ZR22 95W. I have a 71 rearend in it with a 1/4 spacer. 5.5 inch on the BS if I am not mistaken.

Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window

Moving forward, what can I do to keep from cratering another carrier bearing? The first one actually ripped apart when I put my foot down on the gas pedal a little hard. I thought maybe I could tack weld along the top edges where the other one ripped apart but that still does not seem to be very bulletproof. These are a PITA to put in. Any good ideas or possible aftermarket stuff out there?

Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window

there are some really nice aftermarket carrier bearings out there....but they are $$$...

you can flip the carrier bearing mount upside down and it will put it at a better angle and help it not to go through so much wear/tear....
(I learned that one on here and did it on my bagged 70 although I never got a chance to drive it....)

...but that involves removing rivets and bolting or welding it on....

I think that I saw that somewhere on here, guess my search is on. Also will be checkin into the aftermarket scene. If it costs $150-$200 it would be worth it to avoid laying under my truck for four hours! Thanks VA, as usual you are the first line of defense before we make stupid, uneducated decisions!!!!!
