I could throw this in here since they are hand made.

Re: Let's see your homemade crafts!

Some really cool and creative items in this thread. Not quite to the quality of some of the things shown here but made this shop clock from an old beat up hubcap a few years ago. Hangs on the barn siding wall of the wet bar, lets me know it's "five o'clock somewhere" and must be time for a small indulgence,

Re: Let's see your homemade crafts!

Necessity is the father of all inventions as well as most hobbies. I picked up leather work a few years ago because I carry a lot of crap around at work where I work maintenance. I hate having my pockets loaded down so I bought some leather and taught myself to wet form, dying and stitching to make that dark brown pouch to carry my cellphone, notepad, pens etc. Then I made a flashlight holder. Soon after another guy I worked with wanted a pouch so I made him the blue one and my supervisor wanted a messenger bag for his laptop. I was happy to oblige as I've found the craft very rewarding. Soon I'll be thinking of something to make for my truck lol

Chevy nutcase: That is really cool. This seems to be one of those dying trades that would be beneficial to know how to do. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

Thanks for the nice compliment. I'm getting into carving and since the steering wheel in my 66 c10 has a crack or two I might make a leather wrap for it. I was also tossing around making door pockets because lacking a center console theres little room for storage in these trucks

If you end up doing either of those that you mentioned, please be sure to post the pictures! I'd be interested in seeing some "in-process" pictures too, if you're able to capture any.

Hand stitched? Thinnking about making some hood straps (think euro cars-or 20-30's cars)

Yup everything is hand stitched and hood straps would be easy to make. Just need an example or accurate dimensions

Very nice ,, I like em all ,, I built a rocking horse for our first grandchild and he really loved it ... I used a couple marbles for the eyes and some thought they looked like real eyes ,, of course nice people say things like that..
