Re: Silverado restoration in Finland

1. Some previous owner had broken threads from turbine! Great thanks to Classic park and Jukka (painter) who made it possible to correct the treads at the weekend.
2. We still had to use the ATV to get the truck moved.
3. Engine and gear box connected and moving in place.
4 and 5. Engine is in place.

Re: Silverado restoration in Finland

My brother and his son began to repair the wires today.
1. Electrical diagram taped to the wall
2. Extra wires removed
3. Front and rear light wifes repaired, other wiring repairs continue...

Ilkka, I'm so impressed. That engine is like a jewel! I haven't looked at your project for a long time and you have gotten so much work done. I'm sorry that the bed and cab didn't line up. You guys have the skills to fix it. It will just need more new paint. That truck is like it is new + better. Beautiful. I hope you are proud.

The aluminum parts look good. Especially the intake manifold. What is sinol? Is it an aluminum treatment? Here it is a spray for your sinuses.

Thank you very much LT7A! My brother has done a lot of work with this truck in the last few months, so he has made good progress. Next week, we slow down again because we do not have so much time. Sinol is the fuel of the T-Sprii, I can not explain better, sorry.

Thank you very much Mike! Hopefully one day we will get the engine running. There is still a lot of installation before we can start engine. For example, all wiring for engine bay have to installation.

Re: Silverado restoration in Finland

Can anybody help, because we do not know is there any parts missing (+anything else) from that air hose? I don't know what kind of parts I have to search. (Picture)

Is there any good advice on how to get air off from the brakes? Have to be the truck motor running? How about rear brakes?

Thank you Mike! No, we have not started the engine yet. We do not have any battery cables yet and no coolants in the engine, etc..
My brother is away from home all week so I do not want to start the engine alone. I'm trying to install something else in the meantime.
The inner fenders are missing yet, hopefully we will get them soon, that we could install the front end.

Re: Silverado restoration in Finland

Great! The engine started!!! The glow plugs did not work, but the brother's son will figure out where the fault is.
Suspension height was surprisingly good, although I feared that it looks stupid.
This is nice to continue.
