Honda S2000. And a great unintended feature, the headrest have plastic mesh screens, when backing up you can look right through them!

Re: Attempting the "$50 paint job"

Got started on the hood my cousin gave me. Not quite as "mint" as he described, but just one little dent and the full insulator on the bottom.

Re: Attempting the "$50 paint job"

If you could get that paint and somehow spray it out of a paint gun something tells me it would turn out just fine. Or maybe you did. And I just didn't read the thread. But when I hear rustoleum I think spray can.

It looks good. Are you using a brush on the edges and the windows?

Re: Attempting the "$50 paint job"

Hit the bedliner you got on there and knock it off with some 80 grit. Re-shoot Raptor bedliner kit on it and it would look killer. The 80 grit will really give the Raptor a good surface to stick to.

Re: Attempting the "$50 paint job"

Yes a brush. What's the difference in raptor liner and herculiner? It might be a moot point, someone's may be coming to buy it Sunday for $4700. I'm dying for another C5

Re: Attempting the "$50 paint job"

I didn't intend to fix and sell, but I really miss my C5. As much as I likes the truck not too many things compared to my old car, If it sold it would make a nice downpayment.

Ah okay now I'm back in the loop. If I had the cash I'd love to put it down on that truck. Love what you've done to it.

Good job on the paint. Way too many people around here will nail an old soup can to a fender and call it body work.

Re: Attempting the "$50 paint job"

I just sat and read the whole post. I think the paint job turned out nice. I have one question. What grit paper did you use between coats? Am I correct, that you sanded between each coat, except 1 & 2?

Great job!

Re: Attempting the "$50 paint job"

I'll have to go back and look at my notes. I think I wet sanded the original paint with 600, did 2 coats between every sand period except the last one cause I ran outta time. But maybe like 600 after 2, 800 after 4, 1000 after 6, 1500 after 8 and 2000 after 9.
