Re: What did you do to your truck today!

I finally got my 408 in broke in cam and drove it around a little then pulled my old headers back off, changed the motor mount that the PO hacked up with a cutting torch, and put on new headers. It's going in for new exhaust tomorrow. Can't wait, I'm like a kid with a new toy! I tried adding pics but it wouldn't let me, said I was missing a security token???

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

got my transmission upshift issue figured out.. the vacuum line just came disconnected from the modulator on the tranny when i was pulling the points out and dropping in the HEI.

played around with the timing a bit and holy crap did HEI make a difference! no more hesistation when i floor it and the tires scream all the way through first gear!

I cut the metal plates to use as filler panels for the door handles when I shave them.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

I just got my AC converted to R134A. New expansion valve, poppet and drier.
It was almost $500.00 but here in the desert, it's a must!

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Got my exhaust put on, they did a nice job sounds sweet @ lower rpms, has a bit of a bark to it above 3. Didn't feel like jacking it up so I could get underneath to take pics so here's a couple of how I had tail pipes routed. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/a...1&d=1303787789

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Fixed a wire splice that the PO used a wire nut on. Also took out my license plate lights and fixed a few of the broken wires for them. And I installed my fan shroud.
