Re: Silverado restoration in Finland

The truck looks really good and sits nicely. Congratulations on the motor start up. Sorry I can't help with the info you need on the air intake and hydroboost system. My truck had a 6.2 diesel but it was replaced with a gas 454 before I got it. It has hydroboost, but I haven't had to bleed it yet.

Thanks a lot, LT7A! We still have no brakes, but we will try two different ways. Hopefully succeeds. It would be nice to see pictures of your truck.

Re: Silverado restoration in Finland

Some updating. Tailgate installed.
I had to modify the inner fenders. I had to drill a lot of new holes and weld the wrong holes. Really frustrating!! But fortunately my daughter helped me! I hope tomorrow will get them from the painter.

Re: Silverado restoration in Finland

Something has happened:
1. The inner fenders painted.
2 and 3. The inner fenders installed.
4. Front bumper and lower grille panel installed.
5. Finally, we found the rear bumper brace kit for sale. My brother picked up for those yesterday.

The front is almost ready. The rear bumper and lights are now installed. Glow plugs work now.

You've really done an excellent job. Love the Crane lifting the engine out. There's something you don't see every day!

We washed the truck for the first time. We've been driving a bit, but something small stuff still needs to be fixed.
Last pictures, when my brother testing the first time after the restoration.

Rear end looks like this. Only new seal and new oil.
The washer does not work, we have to fix it. Some meter lights does not work and we have to be fixed those.

Re: Silverado restoration in Finland

Yesterday I started a summer vacation, and we went to inspect (hope, this is correct word) the truck. It's been 12 years since last time. Now we have permission to drive by truck.
A few mistakes came to light as we drove the car on the road. The drive shaft keeps the sound and the engine is not adjusted correctly. The engine vibrates as it drives harder.

Thanks a lot, jkk! Next we have to fix all the little things. For example; side molding, fender emblems, interior, etc., etc.

...or do you mean what is the next project? Next project is my own BMW 325i -89 (in the middle of picture). Hopefully it's not in so bad condition than Chevy was...
