Re: 55 2nd serie GMC
Here is a Christmas gift to myself, a new Mar-k's tailgate. Got the one without chain and install their link kit which i had previously install to my old tailgate. Still not sure what latch system to put on this tailgate.

Re: 55 2nd serie GMC
Wonderful tailgate! I only wish they had made the stamped GMC gate when I painted my truck back in 2003. I have seriously thought about putting in a 'new' one!

Re: 55 2nd serie GMC
Snow day today. We had such a blizzard today didn't go to work, some hwy were close, visibility was like 10 feet. Horrible day for driving great day to work on the truck.
Doing final touch up before the engine start-up test. Wired in fuel pump relay, fan relay and mounted everything to a plate that will be set up in the cab somewhere with the PCM, don't know where yet. Top up all the fluid, hock-up the steering column so i can start it with the ignition key. Of course every thing is wired in temporally. Last thing i'm waiting is my buddy to program the PCM and she should be make some noise very soon.

Re: 55 2nd serie GMC
Your truck looks great. Where did you get the 90 degree adapter for your lower radiator hose? I am running into the same problem with my hose configuration. I did see that Summit racing has something simular.
Thanks Marc |

Re: 55 2nd serie GMC
Tonight was the night it started. Check this you tube,
. My buddy was over with his laptop, got the pcm programmed. Got a couple of minor leaks(tranny cooler)at first but after some twicking it was all good. it feels really good to know it runs. I had not heard that engine run at all since we got it from the wreck yard about one and half year ago. This is a big step forward in this project and my rewiring job works.

That sounds great and it's idling ~550 RPM, the response is great.
Keep working at it. Tri5

Here is the body put together. Still have to do some repair below the back window but she is very solid.
