Delivered the Blazer this morning to its new home for the next several weeks. If it doesn't rain tommorrow, it will be blasted to bare metal and repairs will start. I will update this thread as progress on the repairs are made. Here is a few pics: new home, more panels from Tri-Plus, and rocker supports from WES.

I decided not to spend the money for a rendering on this truck being a striaght foward rework for the most part.

Table is picking up 6 of the 8 mounts. It will get braced before cutting begins

4wd, LT1 from '95 Z/28, 4L80E, 205, posi 3.73 front and rear, 18x10 wheels, 33" tires, 2" spring lift up front, 4" shackle flip out back

Clutch posi, original type, considered tru trac, but found good deals on good original posi's. 44 front, 12 bolt back

Tub is blasted. Most of the rot I knew was there, found a few more spots i am going to have to deal with but nothing major I didn't already know. Here is a few pics showing some of the rot, unfortunately there is more. Enjoy my misery

Any Idea what type of media they used to blast it?

Blazers do have an amazing talent for hiding rust.

The Arizona body that I bought for my '70 has outer and inner rocker rot, but that is it.

Used silica sand or glass, don't remember, probably about #4 grade. Almost a cabinet finish. It won;t require any metal finishing before primer can go on. I am using a product called Blue Lightning Metal Prep that is a phosphate conversion coating that will keep bare metal from rusting up to one year. I would normally call BS, but my '68 Camaro has been in bare metal almost 3 years and is just now starting to show signs of small spots of oxidation. Cost was $350 for the top and bottom of the tub and the tailgate. Rate is $100/hr. which is par for a good media guy in this area. I am on the hunt for a bed floor if anyone knows where a perfect floor is. I will be posting in the classifieds so reply there if you know of one.

I will be posting pics here in a couple days. Work was just started on it over the weekend. Firewall is mostly done and starting on the rocker areas. Found on the driver side the cab floor support half gone so I had to order that and waiting on it and a couple other pieces to get here hopefully late this week. Looking good so far.

Finally some pics. Firewall is done, "A" and "B" pillars repaired, kick panel repaired, and inner rocker structure repaired on the right side. Outer rocker is rough fitted waiting for the doors to be hung for final fitting. Right side should be finished this week and starting the left side next week. Right now the truck is filler work until they finaish a '69 Z/28 Camaro that is ahead of me in the shop so progress is slow for the next week or two. Enjoy!
