In Need Of Measurements

Could somebody give me the following measurements on a stock K20/K2500:

Ground to front front spring bolt
Ground to front rear spring bolt
From axle to top of fender well

I would appreciate if someone could give these measurements to me.

Can't help you on the measurements. The problems you will run into is that the ground to spring measurements will be dependent on the tire size you are running, as well as the condition (sagging or not from age) and type (stock or lift) of springs you have.

Very true. I forgot about that. I guess i just need the axle to the fender well.

As far a condition goes, I just want a rough estimate. Original stock springs will work fine.

If it is stock it should be close enough.

I just took the lift off my K-10. Rear is 20" center of axle straight up to fender well. But... the front is 22". I guess the rear has a bit of a sag going on here.

Both stacks are GM springs though?

My 71 K-10 is 24" from the top of the axle straight up to the inner fender. It has stock springs in it, front and rear.

Here is a pic of it.

Yeah, it's all GM, but... now you got me thinking, and I just figured out why my butt end is sitting two inches lower than the front after removing the lift: This truck started life as a 2wd. My rear springs must be for 2wd, the fronts are 4wd. I was trying to figure out how 6" of blocks in the back equaled a 4" lift, and now I know. Dangit man - I'm kicking myself right now. In order to raise the rear back up to level, I'll have to put 2" blocks on, and that means the U-bolts I just bought at NAPA for $18/ea... are instant junk.

Oh the pain, William... The pain!

I think the springs were the same. I think that the mounts on the frame are different.

Key Word = Think

I'm confused as hell now. I thought I had a 4wd frame... but now I don't know what I think I used to know. How do I find out?
