CL buckets from 65 nova SS (not mine)

Im pretty tempted to jump on these myself but Ill share anyway. They look to be in great shape with what I think is a great price and should fit nicely in a 67-72... Since Im a ways away from the seat stage, here ya go...

I have a pair of buckets out of a 65 corvair, look just like those. Anyone know if they used the same seats?

Re: CL buckets from 65 nova SS (not mine)

Late 1980's. 1988 or '89

I saw the car about 5 years later at a Super Chevy show in Baytown Texas.

On a trailer, slicks, no interior except racing seat and no VIN tag. There was something unique to the car so I knew it was mine.

I asked the owner(?) where he got it and he said he bought it out of Angleton Texas. He didn't impress me as a thief but who knows? I tried to get the Sheriff, who was working the track, to help me. He asked "How long ago? - Forget about it".

I'm still looking for it. They didn't make too many of those '65 SS

I read a story recently about a 57 Chevy that was stolen 30 years ago. It was found in a shipping container and returned to the owner. It had been fully restored and upgraded. When it was stolen it was in need of restoring. The owner made out like a bandit, but it took 30 years.
Heres the link to the story. Sorry to hear about your Nova though. Maybe some day it will find its way home.

Anyone ever built a mount and used them in a truck? I might have to use mine to fake a buddy bucket look

Re: CL buckets from 65 nova SS (not mine)

I had a friemd that had 65 corvair seats (same seat as these) I set them in my cab and they seemed to look too small for the cab. I think a fullsize Impala or maybe even a Chevelle would seem to look better, but I haven't actually seem any of the bigger seats in these trucks.

With some steel and a welder anything can be made to fit in or on anything.

theoretically correct but I wonder why some people have problems bolting up premade tubing on such a regular basis
