where to buy some gears at in okc?

Well here in another 2 weeks I'm gunna be buying some gears for my truck! I was wondering if any of you Oklahoma boys would know where I should go? I do not know of any places that do rear ends. I think im gunna go with 342's with possi since I dont have an overdrive. Any ideas of how much this is gunna run me? I was thinking around 800$. Any help would be great. ~Jon

Thumbs up

Im not shure where you can go in Ok.

But here's an idea for ya buy a used 700r4 O/D tranny for as cheap as you can find may be 300$

Then buy a prowertrax posi unit there around 300$ and it requires no special tools to install so you can do it and save some $$$ and now you still have 200 bux left for something else

What gears r in your truck now?

I also would look at Powertrax. No springs to give out, tough as hell and will unlock when you turn. I would love to have a kit like that and plus like Bruce mentioned you can install it yourself. On the gear setup look at Speetek in Midwest City. They have a shop down here that does them. Their number is 405-736-1400

Hey let me know how you like the 3.42 gears. your engine has alot of the same parts and outputs that I want my engine to have, and those are the gears I'm going for too.

Wow......I called up Merles and they said with 342's, Auburn possi, and all the other crap to put it all together would be 1092.09. That is alot more than I expected! I was thinking it would be around 850. Is this a good deal or not? Oh I also called Speedtek and they were about the same price.

JEGS would be the way to go if your going to DIY.

Differentials:

Auburn Performance Series $330

Powertrax No-Slip Traction System $420

Gear stuff :

Jeg's 3.73 Ring & Pinion $160

Richmond 3.73 Ring & Pinion & DIY Kit $295

I wish I could change mine out!

OC, yeah.

brad, do have any idea what they charge for straighting frames? I know things may run different, but any educated guess would be appreciated!

Nope....not a clue what they charge. There has been some bent up cars out back everytime I have been there so they must do quite a bit of frame work. I had them check mine last time it was in there but it was okay.
