Is there a reason that you don't want to use an off the shelf header such as the Hedman 69110 or one of it's variations?

A set of Chevelle headers will work in a truck chassis and will be easier to find in the primary size you want. There is a thread here somewhere showing the Chevelle headers some guys are using.

Re: big block headers for 73-87 1/2 ton ?

I'm using chevelle headers on my '69, mainly due to the truck being so low, any full length truck headers would've been about an inch of the ground while driving. I'm using hedman Elites for a chevelle and they tuck up nice and tight - the don't hang down lower than the framerails. A-arm clearance is good, but depending on the motor mounts you're using, you may have to trim the bracket that bolts the engine if you're using clamshell style mounts. I'm using the '72 only clamshell mounts and had to notch the bracket on the driver's side a bit, but it turned out fine.

Yep, that's them. I would've liked to have 1 7/8", but the fit of these was really nice and they are very well built. I probably won't miss the 10hp or so I lost.
