Trying to Find a Cam (350)
As the title states, I'm looking for a cam for my Small Block 350.
I'm building a '70 with a normal old 350, going to keep it mainly stock but want to improve the sound. I'm looking for a cam that sounds good but doesn't idle too rough. I want this to be a good driver, not something I need to keep at 1800rpm to keep it from dying. Something that sounds good at idle and good when you step on it. Stock bore block (70's block) no machine work needed, just a normal rebuild. Going to run stock heads, maybe adding an intake rather than running a stock one, and going to run dual 3" exhaust to Aero Chamber mufflers. Running a Saginaw 3 Speed aswell.

Re: Trying to Find a Cam (350)
I went with this Lunati cam and lifter set, http://www.lunatipower.com/Product.aspx?id=2323&gid=287 in my 72 DD. Stock heads, Performer intake w/750cfm Quadrajet, and long tubes. Still running and towing strong after two years. It's a "torque" cam that makes power from 0 to 5500 rpm.

Re: Trying to Find a Cam (350)
Iron angel, shot you a nice grind on the camshaft......but, let us talk about exhaust pipe sizing? I worked in a muffler shop, under one of the best...the old man had 45 yrs in the bizz. I did custom work, & agree with the old man? I would suggest 2 1/4" pipes on your app....or go 2 1/2to the mufflers, then drop the tails to 2 1/4" run an H or X pipe, for the balance, & have fun! I have never run 3" pipes....not even on a "hot"455 Olds in my truck. A good 2 1/2 " dual system, will hang with 450hp & work well. You damn sure don't need.....I would not want a 3" system on a 300 hp motor? Take it for what it is worth....not meant to be an azz -whoo. Just make the parts work together Longhorn

This grind would do what your asking. I would not go more than 2.5" myself. You will loose some low end response.

Re: Trying to Find a Cam (350)
That looks like a good cam, do you have any videos of what it sounds like on your truck?
