tranny humps

In the square bodies are the tranny humps bolt in for the manual tranny equipped trucks like the 72 and earlier trucks?

1970 K25, 8' stepside bed 350/465/205 44 up front, 60 in the rear 4.10s rolling on 33" Dunlop MTs
1986 K5, 350/465/208 Dana 60/14 bolt from a cucv 36" Super Swampers TSL/SX
1983 K20 w/ CUCV axles, 350/700R4/208 sitting on 37" Goodyears
1986 M1031 6.2 diesel, TH400/NP205 locker in the rear and a LS in the front, all stock for now.....
1986 K30, 350/400/205 dana 60 and 14 bolt. I kept the drivetrain. Body/bad and chassis are gone.
1981 K30, 350/465/205 dana 60 and dually 14 bolt. Has a G80, and a flat bed. Going to replace the flat bed.

1985 K20, 350/400/208 10 bolt and SF 14 bolt. I wonder where I can find some 1 tons. Hmmmmm

I saw a members build, 1974 I believe, and it had a removable hump. I'm looking to put a SM465 in my 86 K5 and will need the hump removed. I'd rather not drill out the spot welds if I could just cut a hole and then bolt in a tranny cover.

They were bolt in until about 83' / 84'.

I have an '86 4x4 4 speed. the cab was shot. I got another cab witch is still '86 but 2wd. I cut my hump out if my 4x4 ,laid it in the 2wd traced it out and made the new hole 2" smaller and used an insert gun to put threaded inserts in the floor to bolt the hump back in. looks and works good.

i have seen a late 70s...........79 or 80 one idr now that was not bolted in even. idk if different plants did different things or that would get different floor pan manufacters or what.

I've always seen bolt in ones-I have an extra one in nice shape if you need one. The tool used to install the riv-nuts is called a riv-gun and you can buy different sizes of riv-nuts. After drilling the holes as Jeff said, installing them is a breeze.
