I am putting on a 1959 Impala steering wheel and I think I need the metal contact plate...not the plastic plate I received with my steering wheel...I have it all lined up but I cannot get the horn to make contact...and yes I have read about 20 past posts on this subject...learned a lot but still need a bit of help...Marla

I struggled with that too when I first bought my truck from the previous owner.. finally put a jumper from the battery to the terminals on the actual horns just to see if they worked and found that both of them were dead.

So are you sure your horn (the one(s) behind the grill) works? Also I'll bet if you post a photo of that super cool 59 Impala steering wheel someone will know which disk to use..

The cancelling cam pin was not making a good contact...I used a new spring from an ink pen and it worked perfect...got to love 50 year old technology...M

That steering wheel is totally cool - nice choice!

Where is the seatbelt for your date? What is (s)he, chopped liver? You need one in the middle so they can schooch all the way over without risking a broken nose on the rear view mirror.

Plus if you ever make a wrong turn down a residential street in East LA Homies might take note and (maybe) give you a pass.
