quadrajet metering rods

Anyone change these things? I have a brand new carb for an 82 Blazer but it is for a 305 and I just put in a 350. I read in Chevy High Performance that you need to change the metering rods to richen it up for higher displacement. I have an old carb off a 350 and was wondering if I could just switch them out or buy new ones?
Thanks for the help,
