1962 250 Install Help
Alright guys, I’m back with another question. Last time I was here I asked about removing the TH350 trans out of my ‘62 truck in order to rebuild it. I ended pulling the motor and trans as a whole. The engine that is currently in it is a Blueprint 383 Stroker motor. I exchanged some landscaping work and rebuilding a wood privacy fence for a good running 250 inline. Call me crazy, but I want to install the 250 and sell the 383. The 250 will be better for just driving around town, and I have no use for the 383 since I’m not going to be drag racing or nothin.
So, here’s my question: What motor mounts do I need in order to make the 250 install work? Does anyone have a link to someone that makes them? I know the trucks with manual trans had the front U-shaped motor mount. From what I’ve read the side motor mounts for an automatic trans is rare? I think I read that 67 side mounts fit the 62 frame…albeit you have to drill new holes? Last edited by cwcarpenter98; 08-18-2024 at 10:16 PM. Reason: Edited out for sale part of post |
