Looking to buy: 292 4x4 Engine crossmember

I am looking to buy an engine crossmember for a 292 6cyl 4x4. This is proving difficult to find. This is for my new project a 1968 K20 Suburban. It will be turbo charged. I live close to the USA/Canada border so shipping within either country works well for me.

Thanks

I’m pretty sure I have one from my 67, I’ll go check, shipping from Florida might be steep though

Thank you for checking! Not sure how it all works on here but please send a picture to confirm if you can.

My Zipcode is 83805. Let me know how much shipping is, and how much you'd like for the crossmember.

Thanks again!

I have a whole 1970 K20 with a 292, 4 speed and power steering! Talk about hard to find. I’d consider selling the whole truck

Love the truck! Would love to have it! Unfortunately/fortunately I only have room for one, haha. I have yet to see a 292 with factory power steering. Definitely cool. If you every want to sell just the engine crossmember please let me know.

Thanks

Thank you for the pics! That is the one I'm looking for.

Whenever you get a chance to check the cost of shipping to 83805, and how much you would like for the crossmember, please let me know.

Thanks very much.

Re: Looking to buy: 292 4x4 Engine crossmember

Welcome Aboard! Back in the day, my dad had a 3/4 ton, 292, 4x4. No idea if it had power steering. We lived in Sandpoint then and he was a logger so when he traded it in, around 1975 it had close to 150k on it. Later in life he would comment on how it was one of his favorite trucks.

I haven't been through Porthill since the 70's. We had a great uncle who still lived on the family's 180 acre homestead east of Moyie Springs.

Please forgive the highjack. Your thread but it brought back some memories.

Good luck with the project. And we would love to see photos and a thread on it.

I’d like $250 for the crossmember. Shipping I’ll have to see if I can find a box and get a quote

Remove the stands and lay as flat as possible to reduce the overall size will help.

I was hoping you'd be reasonable with the price.....$250 sounds like a fair price. Thank you.

I'm not certain, but some shipping companies may let you wrap it with their shrink wrap at the depot and ship it like that.

Very cool!
Sandpoint has changed a lot since the 70's........Porthill, not too much!
I will try to get a thread going over the winter for the Suburban. I'm hoping to have it up and running for next summer. Just trying to skip the minivan and go straight to the 68 Suburban instead for the family

Thanks

Re: Looking to buy: 292 4x4 Engine crossmember

I brought the crossmember into the house last night, I’m going to pop off the bolts to be able to lay it flatter for shipping quote and will wrap it up. Sorry slow moving with kids and work
