Kick Panel Vents, Left vs. Right

Guys,

I forgot to mark my left and right kick panel air vents on my 72 C10 when I took them off. They are clearly different on the back side but I can't tell which one is the left or right. Appreciate any assistance.

Thanks, Rick

On the inside of the vent the top shaft is spring loaded. Pull down on top shaft, tilt and it will come right out.

On a non AC cab I don't think it matters which one is which since they both are manual. Not 100% sure of this but can't see why it would matter though.
AC cab the passenger side is vacum operated so it's obvious which one it is.

U can buy the new gaskets from most vendor on here.

After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Where can I buy a new vent? My drivers side vent was replaced by a plastic bag stuffed into the vent opening.

Re: Kick Panel Vents, Left vs. Right

I replaced seals on mine. When trying to drill out rivets, most would just spin. Solved by using dremel to cut off head - much faster

Re: Kick Panel Vents, Left vs. Right

Instead of the 10 cent foam, I used silicone sheet, cut oval, pop rivet in place.

Re: Kick Panel Vents, Left vs. Right

I have replaced the rivets with 8-32 screws and locking nuts and also used pop rivets with backup washers.

Either way works just as well. Just dont try the pop rivet method without the washers, as they tend to pull through the thin metal without popping. They make a special washer for this purpose. Save yourself some time and head to a real hardware store. Or you can order a bag of them from Grainger, like I did.

I think there's about 480 washers left in my bag.
