Rubber body mount torque spec
Finishing up doing the rubber body mounts and my memory is that you torque them to 40 lb/ft. I looked in my service manual and searched here but couldn't find the answer.
Anyone know the correct torque figure?

It's anywhere from 30 to 60 lbs. A lot of it depends on alignment issues. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

So should I go for 30 all around and then see how the doors, tailgate and hood shut?

Tailgate? I thought you were restoring your flat bed. It is the body line alignment. I would torque them to 30 then dry fit all of the other parts. Fenders, hood, core support, bumper and etc. If it goes togeter nice and the lines all look good leave it there, because that allows more room for your cab to move independently from your chassis. If not then take them down 10 more pounds and try again. I don't think it will be that big of issue, because it is mainly for bed to cab alignment. You have a flat bed, so that shouldn't be an issue. The way that I do it is to bolt everything together befor I torque the body mounts, then I torque them accordingly. That way it won't be hard to bring the fender to door line in because you don't have the radiator core support bolts tight enough or too tight... Once the bed is installed you can see what you have to do to allign the horizontal body lines. You know what I mean? WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

This is for the K5 I recently got. It has been getting some TLC while I wait for the K20 to get done. This info will get the body mount project done, thanks!
