Vacuum Can
I have the vacuum canister mounted on the heater box, I think I see it on mos AC equipped trucks. Mine has a vacuum line running from the manifold to the can and that's it. What could this be accomplishing hooked up like that. What is the proper connection?

It's difficult to tell, there is some kind of knub I can feel on the back side, but I don't think it's an opening. It just seems like such a little can connected only to the manifold, can't be doing much of anything.

It's a vacuum reservoir--all it does is maintain vacuum to activate the heater/ac controls!

Yes but it needs to connect to something. I took a closer look and found that, that knub I felt was in fact another nipple, and I found the little vacuum line had fallen off that goes into the vacuum switch on the Heat/AC controller.

The interesting thing about those is, if you don't have a check valve, I don't see how they can do anything.
