Question Wheel lugs

Been reading almost all the posts to absorb as much info as I can from you guys.
So mutch stuff here it's better than reading a manual.Cuz you ask the guy ( opps people) that drives em.
I have a 68 with six lugs, I see switching to 5 ,seems to be the thing to do. So here's my question .
WHY?

Cheaper way to get disc brakes (swap with parts from 71 & up), and a better selection of custom wheels.

8door - Yeah, for now. I swapped a 72 front end onto my 68 for the disc brakes and used drop spindles. I kept the 6 lug rear for now 'cause it has 3.73's in it. Maybe later I'll swap rearends, or redrill these axles to 5 lug. Or I could swap in 71 & ^ axles, but I would need to make a spacer plate as they would be slightly longer. I used the Vette-style rallys since the center cap would hide the lug nuts

Jeepster376 - 71 was the first year for 5 lug/disc brake front ends on the 1/2 ton 2wd's. By the way, that 72 of yours is SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought it was an option in '71 and standard in '72.
