Using an '87 fuel injection on '85 carb

Is it do-able to swap an 87 Fuel injection system from a 350 to an 85 carbureted 305? I know i will need the intake, and maybe exhaust manifolds. Anythiung else? Will the intake bolt to the heads on the 305? Are there changes I need to make to run it on the 305? Will I need the distributor from the FI unit? Anybody have or know where I could get a wiring schematic for a system like this? thanks.

I've never had any problems w/ my TBI setup. I had a 1986 C10 and would never go back to a carburetor after owning my 87'.

I'm not sure the intake will bolt up. 1986 and older engines had different heads.

I'd investigate a little further before taking the plunge...

I used 89 heads, intake and injection system on a 1982 short block.

I was happy with the system.

I know the 82 heads would not work with the 89 intake.

All of this went into a 1989 Suburban, so I did not have to mess with wiring.

the intake will work if you elongate the 4 center holes of the intake.

The heads may be diffrent I can not remember if the 85 had the bolts that went in at an angle or not. If you have the bolts go inat an angle and you are talking about the TBI sytem everything will just bolt on. you will need the computor wire harnes and sensors. You will need an electric fuel pump. If you are talking about a EFI I do not know never don it.

It will work fine Friend of mine put a 87 harness in a 75 Blazer Its awesome Good fuel mileage starts right up ..

I have been considering Putting a Fuel Injection In my 85 I can buy a 89 work truck For 300 dollars running with a 305

My only dilema is i just built and installed a new carbed 350 I think it would be wise to have a cam that Is made for fuel injection but other than that It should work out.
