tire size opinions needed

I am working on my new 72 project, and just finished restoring a nice set of 15x8 rallies for it.

I was thinking about a set of 275 /60 / 15 for all four corners. Is this a good idea? Will they fit O.K. ?

I was thinking about using a BF Goodrich T/A - do you think I should put the white letters facing out, or go with the black wall facing out?

Some pics of rallys with wide tires would be appreciated.

275/60's look good. I've got them on the back of my truck, and 255/60's on the front. All on 15x8 rims. They are nice and meaty.

Put the white letters out. These truck look great with white-letter tires

Here is mine with 275 60 on all four not the best photo. I do like the white letters out but I have two different types of tires so black walls it is.

What was the factory size tires for our 1/2 tons?
Wasn't there a specific overall diameter of the tire so the speedo was accurate?

I believe stock is 235/75/15.

Here is a good tire size calculator that tells you the speed difference.
