what makes an hei an hei?
is it the chip or the coil location? and then how do you tell the differance?
I'm seeing some distributors for a 350 being called a 350 but it has a vac advance on it and i thought that that wasn't HEI. Am i right? then if i get one w/ a chip how do you wire it up? in a 68? thanks, sswj

Stock gm hei distributors are easy to id. They'll have the coil and module on top of the distributor cap, and yes they have vac advance too. They're larger in physical size than a points dist.
